Emily & Caroline | Downtown Rochester, NY Intimate Wedding

Emily & Caroline celebrated their intimate wedding with friends and family on the second weekend of June, in the heart of Downtown Rochester. Emily & Caroline made the decision to push their larger reception to 2022, while still getting married in 2021. They went back and forth between plans for their intimate ceremony and celebration and decided on a ceremony with close friends and family followed by a lunchtime reception.

Emily & Caroline met their wedding parties as well as their family at the George Eastman Gardens the morning of their wedding for formal portraits. After family & wedding party formal portraits were wrapped up Emily & Caroline had the George Eastman Gardens to themselves for bridal portraits.

After a brief intermission, Emily & Caroline arrived at The Penthouse on One East Avenue for their ceremony! The couple walked down the aisle together and shared vows they had written themselves during their simple ceremony. Their ceremony was followed by a brief cocktail hour & lunch reception.

Favorite Moments from Your Wedding Day: “Caroline’s favorite part of the wedding day was listening to the vows, my favorite part was having our portraits taken in the garden after everyone had left. It was nice to enjoy an intimate moment with just the two of us.”

Their Dresses: “Caroline chose her gown because it had shorts attached to it, haha and I chose mine because I wanted something super simple because my dress for our reception next year is over the top! I loved how flowy mine was and simple!”

Advice for Newly Engaged Couples: “Book a wedding coordinator! I did everything myself and it was very stressful! Having someone else worry about the details is something I’m going to have for our reception next year! Caroline said when your bride asks you to do something make sure to do it right away lol.”

Wedding Day Heirlooms: “Caroline’s wedding band belonged to her grandmother, it was passed down to her. I wore a blue ring that belonged to my grandmother and was passed down to me. Caroline gave me a necklace to match it as a gift for our big day!”
