Highland Park and High Falls Rochester, NY Engagement Portraits | Nicole + Mike

Mike and Nicole met me at Highland Park in the heart of Rochester for their Fall engagement session. The weather was perfect for Fall in Rochester and luckily there was no rain!! It was such a beautiful day that the park was full of people. We were able to sneak away into some more private areas of the park and it ended up feeling like we had the whole place to ourselves. After Highland Park we finished up their engagement session at High Falls.

Seeing Mike and Nicole interact during their engagement session it was clear to see the love these two have for each other! Mike kept a smile on Nicole’s face the entire time and she couldn’t help but to burst out laughing at his silliness.

Length of Dating: 4 Years
Length of Engagement: 7 Months

How They Met
We met on a dating app, bumble, but we went to high school together! We didn’t know each other while in school but realized after we started dating we have mutual friends and have definitely crossed paths more than once.

The Proposal Story
Mike proposed on March 13th (Friday the 13th) during the start of COVID. We went to dinner at La Casa, one of our favorite spots! Mike had been talking all week about how he wanted to get ice cream, specifically from ISquare in Irondequoit. After dinner, I was full and not in the mood for ice cream but knew Mike wanted it, so we went anyway! Fast forward to the end of our date night. Mike brought me over to Murphs Irondequoit pub’s original location (where we had our first date) because he “wanted to see if there were any bar signs leftover” I stood back because, well, breaking into an abandoned building was not on my agenda for that evening (lol). He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was so special because that’s where we shared our first date and where our life together first began almost 4 years ago! Our friends were across the street at Titus Tavern, and our family was at his parent’s house waiting to celebrate with us! It was perfect. I had absolutely no idea it was going to happen.

The Ring
Mike designed the ring himself, with a little help from my subtle hints. It’s perfect, it’s a pear-cut diamond (Just like I wanted) very simple but beautiful!

What are you Most Looking Forward to
I’m most looking forward to celebrating with family and friends, and finally having the same last name as mike and our Lucy girl! We did things a little backwards but I’m so happy and excited to see our little girl celebrate with us! Mike is also excited to celebrate, and officially becoming ‘the Moroni’s’ he said he’s pretty excited about the food too (lol)
