Mary and Tucker joined me at the Lake House Canandaigua for their Canandaigua lake engagement session in late November. Their session was full of warmth, sunlight, and plenty of laughter which was complimented perfectly by the relaxed but polished backdrop of the Lake House.

Length of Dating: Two Years
Length of Engagement: 7 Months

How They Met:
“We met on Hinge during the early days of the pandemic! I was in NYC working in a hospital, and Tuck was isolated at his parent’s house on Shelter Island. Our first dates were over FaceTime, believe it or not.”

I was so excited that we had such an abundance of sunlight for Mary & Tucker’s Canandaigua lake engagement session. It added so much warmth to their photos which matched their personalities and relationship perfectly.

The Proposal Story:
“Tucker proposed to me in front of the Alice in Wonderland statue in Central Park on Friday, July 8th. Our families hid nearby to celebrate with a champagne toast in the park prior to a dinner at the Central Park Boat House. Later that evening, our friends helped us celebrate at a bar we found shortly after moving into our apartment on the Upper East Side. Each step of the way, Tucker, who is incredibly sweet and quite detail-oriented, had orchestrated around my early memories moving to NYC or favorite things we had happened along during our time getting to know each other while I got to know the city.”

The Engagement Ring

“Tucker designed my ring with a jeweler out of Rochester with the help of my mom and sister-in-law. He kept the design process a complete surprise from me. Sneaking rings from my jewelry box when I was at work to have them measured, etc. He pulled inspiration from a picture I had sent my sister-in-law on Instagram of a ring I had loved. My mom helped pick the stones in person and oversee the design process. I have to give my dad a shout-out here. He made the initial connection with the jeweler, a man my dad had partnered Tucker with in a foursome for golf the first time Tuck golfed at Oak Hill (where we’ll be getting married) when we were in Rochester getting to know my parents… think it was a sign he loved him from the start”
