Celebratory Bliss: A Spirited Spring Wedding at the Country Club of Rochester

Inspired by the soft beauty of Spring, Lindsay and Brackett’s Country Club of Rochester Wedding channeled the couple’s desire to invite family & friends to enjoy a celebratory weekend with them. 

Lindsay and Brackett left a personal touch on every aspect of their wedding day. From choosing the Country Club of Rochester as their wedding venue- a place that is special to them, to a bagpiper playing for their guests as they exited their church or their private vow reading with their immediate families in the gardens of the Memorial Art Gallery. 

Their day was a perfect reflection of their story and their love.

The Wedding Gown | Springtime Wedding

“I fell in love with my dress, I truly felt like a fairytale bride. I loved the way it flattered my favorite features of myself. It was a dress no one would expect me to wear, and I love a good surprise! I loved the floral beaded detailing and structured corset look of the dress!”

“We chose The Country Club of Rochester as our wedding venue because I always envisioned having an outdoor wedding under a large tent with garden vibes. The venue itself is so beautiful on its own we didn’t need to do much else!  Having the sailcloth tent with the flags on top was my wedding dream come true! Brackett loved the idea of having cocktail hour on the patio and fire pits for guests to sit around during late night. We are so glad we chose The Country Club or Rochester for our wedding venue and excited that every time we go back for date nights or golf rounds, we will always think of our special day!” 

A Quiet Moment Before The Excitement

Lindsay’s father surprised her by arranging for a private car to transport the two of them from The Country Club of Rochester to the church in downtown Rochester. They were able to enjoy a quiet moment together on the drive, allowing the joy of the day to sink in.

Sounds of Home | A Bagpipe Serenade

Lindsay and Brackett had a bagpiper play for guests as they exited the church, a nod to the bride’s father’s Scottish ancestry. Lindsay’s father enjoyed listening to bagpipe music with his late mother and father. Having a bagpiper play at the church was a way for Lindsay and her family to feel connected to them. 

Private Vows Shared With Family

After wrapping up their formal ceremony at the church, Lindsay, Bracket, and their immediate families joined them at the gardens of the Memorial Art Gallery in downtown Rochester for a private vow reading. Their vows were warm and heartfelt. It was this moment that was the bride’s favorite.

“Just as Brackett was about to speak his vows, a dog in the background started incessantly barking. To most people, that would’ve been annoying. To us, we looked at each other and knew that it meant our sweet Hobey was there looking down on us.”

A Bourne Tradition | The Loving Cup

Brackett’s family’s tradition of ‘The Loving Cup’ was incorporated into their reception. The sterling silver cup is meant to be drunk out of by the bride and groom together as each person holds a handle. 

This represents the two becoming one in marriage. The groom’s grandparents, aunt and uncle, and parents all drank out of the loving cup at their weddings.   

The Second Look | The Country Club of Rochester Wedding

During their reception, Lindsay and Brackett surprised guests with a coordinating second look. Brackett wore a white and black dinner jacket with matching pants, while Lindsay wore a sequinned jumpsuit with matching sunglasses and sneakers. After popping a bottle of champagne and cutting their cake, they were ready to join guests on the dance floor. 

The bride had this to say about their second look, “ Once Brackett put on his white jacket and I got into my sparkly jumpsuit, he loved the moment walking back into the tent and seeing all of our guests cheering and excited for us to join them on the dance floor.”

Advice For Newly Engaged Couples

“Our advice for newly engaged couples would be to soak it all in and enjoy the process. Work together with each other. It will be stressful at times, but it really is fun to be able to plan a full day that is entirely catered to what you and your partner enjoy and feel is important.”
